Youth United Way Leadership Program is asking all member teens and their families to mark Wednesday, May 6, 2015 on their calendars and schedules for this year’s recognition banquet, which celebrates youth service.
The recognition banquet is one of the most popular activities on the Youth United Way calendar for students and their families. This year, the banquet will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Holiday Inn at the University of Memphis, 3700 Central Avenue. Register online here.
While local media has recently been focused on troubles among high school students, this celebration helps spread the news that many local teens are following the right path and are actively involved with making our community an even better place to live, displaying a positive “#901YouthStrong” attitude characterized by volunteerism, leadership, and care for our common good.
The evening will feature a presentation of the Youth United Way Alumni Award, now in its fourth year. The students that will be filling the positions of Youth United Way Chairman and Co-Chairman will also be announced.
