United Way of the Mid-South and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST) are hosting their virtual workplace campaign!

The virtual landscape during the campaign season is now commonplace and easily navigated by our corporate partners. BCBST traditionally has conducted Agency Fairs consisting of high performing nonprofits that are supported by BCBST employees. Claire Brulatour, the Program Management Coordinator at BCBST, has continued their tradition in a virtual format. For an entire week, BCBST hosted daily agency fairs with such guests as Meritan, YWCA, Catholic Charities and Porter Leath. Hats off to Claire and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee for continuing to support United Way and the Midsouth community!

On July 22, Ampro Industries, Inc. gave away over 1,500 gallons of hand sanitizer to United Way Partner Agencies.

At the start of the pandemic in early 2020, Ampro switched from making America’s fastest selling protein hair styling gels to making hand sanitizers to help support the community and essential workers. Ampro is committed to serving the community, not only by offering quality hair care products at value prices, but also by supporting the nonprofit organizations that seek to improve the quality of life of consumers. We are humbled by the generosity and selflessness of Ampro and what this meant to our community. As Ampro likes to say, “You don’t need to be a millionaire to give back and make a difference. Start with what you have and go from there. Charity begins with Hope, and where there is Vision, there is Provision.”  Memphis has been blessed by your partnership!

Let’s hear from MacKenzie Walker, Communications Coordinator, AMPRO Industries, Inc. below.

The Hershey Company has kicked off it’s “Good to Give Back” drive.

Last year, the employees of Hershey dedicated over 4,000 hours of their time at 30 volunteer events, and they can’t wait to spread more joy this year. Beyond their volunteer support, the employees give back to their communities year round, and it is because of their dedication that today Hershey was recognized by Points of Light for the seventh year in a row in its list of “America’s 50 Most Community-minded Companies.” The company updated its corporate giving strategy to include a renewed focus on the communities where its employees live and work, distributing more than $5 million to 1,100 organizations through Hershey’s community giving program. The new strategy focuses on three key areas that help communities thrive: supporting basic needs, educating the workforce of tomorrow, and investing in community and economic development efforts that bring people together. United Way is grateful to Hershey’s for their support and alignment to our mission!
