Who deserves to live a life of poverty? No one; and at United Way of the Mid-South, we are in heavy pursuit to actualize ways to create economic advancement and opportunity for all. We realize that systemic issues like the racial wealth gap have remained persistent in this country for decades.  This growing burden impacts not only black and brown families but everyone in our nation and our community.  As we unearth the many factors that keep our most vulnerable neighbors stuck in generational poverty, we find promise in our national partners who are developing ways to tackle these issues.
