United Way of the Mid-South’s Resource Development team has pivoted to take an innovative approach during the COVID-19 pandemic by conducting workplace campaigns virtually. They provided a Virtual Toolkit to corporate partners so they can effectively run their campaign season.  The Toolkit included videos, kickoff emails, stories about our Driving The Dream participants and much more. There are currently nine workplace campaigns running with the help of the Virtual Toolkit.

New Millennium Steel Building Systems was the first to conduct a virtual campaign.  Their campaign was successful; they reached 89% of their goal within the first two days of their campaign! This set the stage for the start of a virtual campaign season.

Valero is currently running their workplace campaign and has designated an onsite Employee Engagement Champion to make sure everything runs smoothly with COVID-19 precautions. They are planning a cook-off and virtual auction in addition to participating in Days of Caring: Month of Service.

The UPS Hub is using technology to conduct their workplace campaign, utilizing Zoom meetings to share the mission of United Way with their employees.

United Way’s Resource Development team is in constant communication with our corporate partners to determine the best way we can support them during this workplace campaign season. We remain flexible in determining all avenues for our partners to join us in our mission of providing opportunity for all.
