At United Way of the Mid-South, Resource Development is laying the foundation for another year of critical support for our community.

While many of our workplace campaigns occurred between August and December 2020, we are still engaged in supporting our corporate partners who have yet to offer the opportunity to their employees to support United Way and our community. Virtual campaigns became a best practice during the pandemic and will continue to be utilized as long as the threat from COVID-19 exists. Our corporate partners have seamlessly integrated into this new environment, and we are poised to finish the year strong.

This time of year is an exciting period for our partner agencies and corporate partners. For our agencies, the grant allocation process begins.  For our corporate partners, we will select the Best of the Best! This is that special time of the year when we get to recognize the accomplishments that have been made by our corporate partners, especially during workplace campaigns. Adversity brings about ingenuity and that is what we saw as our corporate partners. We are thrilled to recognize their successes.

Resource Development is excited to partner with the City of Memphis and Nucor Steel to host campaigns to round out our fiscal year. We would also like to recognize and thank International Paper for their donation of 5,000 Hammermill Paper Packs to be distributed to Shelby County Schools. Once secured, this donation will be used to stuff backpacks during the community’s next “Stuff the Bus” school drive. Finally, we would like to give a shout out to Ampro, a locally- based business and a leader in manufacturing personal care products, for donating 5,000 gallons of hand sanitizer to United Way partner agencies! Our United Way thanks our community for supporting our most vulnerable neighbors who have critical needs that are supported by our corporate partners and their employees!
