Youth United Way’s Shoebox Christmas initiative helps Fairley Elementary have Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas

Youth United Way Leadership Program teens give some excited Fairley students presents as part of Shoebox Christmas

For several years, teens in the Youth United Way Leadership Program have taken time during the holidays to collect and assemble gift boxes filled with toys, school supplies, items, stuffed animals and other Christmas presents for young children in the Memphis area.

The teens deliver the gifts to a local elementary school as part of their Shoebox Christmas initiative to help children during the holiday season and spread the message of staying in school and getting a good education.

This year, the shoeboxes were delivered to students at Fairley Elementary. Every student in prekindergarten through fourth grade received a shoebox filled with Christmas items.
