From the Archive: Youth United Way chairman to deliver Governor’s address for Youth In Gov’t Conference

Clifton Jordan, chairman of our local Youth United Way Leadership Program

Clifton Jordan, student Chairman of our Youth United Way Leadership Program, will deliver the Governor’s address to students from across Tennessee at the 2011 Youth in Government Conference at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Nashville.

The keynote address will be on March 25th at the Governor’s Banquet beginning at 7 p.m. The Tennessee YMCA Youth in Government Program is an annual conference designed to offer high school and middle school students a hands-on experience with state government.

Each year, approximately 1,600 students from across the state converge on the state capitol in Nashville, taking the places of our real government officials. Program participants can serve as senators or representatives, as justices and lawyers, as department commissioners and lobbyists, or even as press corps members.
