Wonder Trails across Tennessee provide early learning opportunities, new online guide provides locations across state

Wonder Trails are custom outdoor walking and learning experiences that help caregivers provide children with learning opportunities in the areas of spelling, sounds, counting, color differentiation and other fun steps in building early knowledge. As caregivers and children walk the trail, signs along the way point out activities which help encourage learning and playtime fun.

United Way organizations across the state have been involved in bringing volunteers, community officials, resources and materials together to construct Wonder Trails. Now, a handy online guide put together by the United Ways of Tennessee organization can help you learn where these trails are located in Tennessee. To access this guide, click here.

Wonder Trails are made possible by local communities which provide park space and volunteers who construct the trail and install signage.

In our Mid-South area, two Wonder Trails have been constructed and plans are underway to build more. One trail is located in Covington, TN at Frayser Park on 412 Alston St.  Another park is located in Hernando, MS at Lee’s Summit Park at 1210 Montieth.
