Serving on a nonprofit board of directorsIt’s vitally important that volunteers serving on local nonprofit boards understand the issues, roles and responsibilities that come with this type of community leadership.

Volunteer Mid-South is providing board connection training focused on Effective Board Service, Tuesday, February 26.

This must-take course for prospective or existing nonprofit board members helps ensure effective and accountable governance for your nonprofit organization. Participants will learn about:

    • Different board structures
    • The various roles and responsibilities boards and board members encounter as they lead an organization’s work
    • The statutory and fiduciary duties of a nonprofit board
    • Liabilities, and what you can do to minimize organizational and personal risks

The training will provide seasoned or new board members with a solid foundation for carrying out governance roles with accountability and confidence.
