The Shelby County Office of Preparedness and the Emergency Management Agency have announced that free clean-up assistance is now available for homeowners affected by the floods in April and May.
A hotline number has been established for citizens seeking free clean-up assistance. Call 901.654.0756 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily and leave a message. Callers will be contacted within 24 hours. All assistance is provided on a first come, first serve basis.
The group is also seeking more volunteers to help with home clean-up and deconstruction. The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is leading the training and guidance for this effort. UMCOR is known worldwide for their expertise in this area.
If you and/or your group would like to volunteer to help clean homes, please go to 6465 Mullins Station Road, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m and 4:30 p.m. for more information.
