President Obama

President Obama will provide the commencement speech to the winner of a national "Race To The Top" challenge. Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis is one of only three schools in the finalist phase of the national contest.

As we shared last month, Booker T. Washington High School is a finalist in the Race To The Top Commencement Challenge. The winning school will receive a visit and commencement address from President Obama. The field of six has now been narrowed to three, and Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis is still in the running!

The top six schools were rated by internet users last week as nearly 100,000 people from across the country provided almost 300,000 ratings. Later this week, President Obama will select the winning school from one of the top three.
