United Way support helps AFL-CIO Labor Council distribute 150 Christmas food boxes to families in need

FoodBoxes1Earlier today, the AFL-CIO Labor Council were able to assemble and distribute 150 Christmas food boxes to local families in need thanks in part to a special grant from United Way of the Mid-South.

United Way Labor Participation Director Casel Jones, AFL-CIO President Irvin Calliste and labor union members from the Memphis area assembled the boxes at the AFSCME building at 485 Beale Street this morning.

Our thanks to all the men and women from organized labor who give of their time and resources to help people in need and support the United Way of the Mid-South fundraising campaign!
