United Way of the Mid-South’s employees contributed significantly to this year’s Operation Feed campaign for the Mid-South Food Bank. United Way reached first place in per capita giving. Results were based on the sizes of companies that participated, both big and small.
Last weekend’s The Commercial Appeal saluted the top-giving organizations in this year’s Operation Feed campaign with a photograph. (To view the picture, please use the link at the end of this story).
According to Barbara Butler, Executive Assistant at United Way, our organization earned 117,125 points in the drive. Butler and Shirley Walczak, Senior Assistant at UW, were co-Chairs for the event.
“United Way has been a partner in Operation Feed since its inception. We continue to donate at high levels because we believe in the mission of the Mid-South Food Bank,” Butler said.
United Way also contributed pro bono graphic design and printing of materials to the Operation Feed campaign this year.
