United Way Loaned Executives and Sponsored Representatives are thanked for an outstanding season of service to the Mid-South

Joe DiNicolantonio (standing, left) and Faye Carter, Sr. VP of Fundraising with United Way thanked Loaned Executives and Sponsored Representatives for the success of the 2012 campaign through November.

General Campaign Chairman Joe DiNicolantonio (Regions Bank) and the United Way staff saluted this year’s volunteer Loaned Executives and Sponsored Representatives with a farewell luncheon last week as the team shared the latest results of raising funds for improving local education, financial stability and health for the Mid-South.

Shannon Brown, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at FedEx Express, talked to United Way staff, Loaned Executives and Sponsored Representatives about the difference United Way makes in our community. Brown, who is also incoming United Way Board Chairman, was United Way’s General Campaign Chairman for the 2009-10 regional fundraising drive.

Loaned Executives and Sponsored Representatives have long been critical parts of United Way’s fundraising and awareness sharing work during late summer and fall. The Thanksgiving season luncheon often provides insights on the progress of the United Way campaign. Many Loaned Executives and Sponsored Representatives conclude their season of service at Thanksgiving, while some continue working with United Way staff in December. The group was treated to a wonderful slide show of photographs of the team in action set to music, created by Loaned Executive Kim Calvert from FedEx.

Comparing year-to-date partial results never produces a completely solid predictor of success (since final results from major organizations running United Way fundraising drives are reported at different calendar dates every year) but we do know the hard work of volunteers on the United Way Campaign Cabinet, staff, Loaned Executives and other key volunteers has put our United Way in a very good position. Totals shared at the luncheon show our organization is slightly ahead of 2011’s Thanksgiving amount. Our current fundraising drive ends in late February, 2013.

Traci Stubblefield, (far left) gives a report on FedEx support for the campaign. FedEx is our area’s largest single contributing organization to the United Way fundraising drive, and the results of their campaign will be featured in an upcoming story on the United Way News Center.

Past Loaned Executives and Sponsored Representatives were reminded to stay connected to United Way through membership in the Loaned Executives Alumni Association.

If you are a Campaign Cabinet member, Loaned Executive, Sponsored Representative, or work on the United Way fundraising campaign at work workplace or organization, know that our Mid-South community is very thankful for your service!
