United Way G. Bradley Wanzer, Jr. Award For Excellence honors UW partner agencies setting highest standards

The UNITED WAY G. BRADLEY WANZER, JR. AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE honors Brad Wanzer’s 31-year career at our United Way and his legacy of caring. The award recognizes United Way partner agencies committed to the highest standards of service to our community.

G. Bradley Wanzer Jr. Award For ExcellenceThe award focuses on four standards of excellence. The chosen agency receives a $25,000 stipend to use in their work for our local Mid-South community.

The award committee will select another United Way partner nonprofit to receive this honor, and the selected agency will be announced in at a special event honoring volunteers (more details coming soon). We will also re-announce the winner at our Day of Caring kickoff rally in September.

The criterion for the G. Bradley Wanzer, Jr. Award For Excellence focuses on how a United Way of the Mid-South agency embraces these four standards:

1. Accountability
2. Outcome measures
3. Collaborations in the Mid-South community
4. Partnership with United Way of the Mid-South

Each of the four standards of practice was important to G. Bradley Wanzer, Jr. and represent different aspects of his work across our region. Wanzer passed away in 2005, and the award was created to honor his outstanding work and dedication to our community’s nonprofit sector.
