United Way of the Mid-South’s recent celebration event was featured in The Fayette Falcon newspaper earlier this month, recognizing our network’s efforts to improve education, financial stability and health across Fayette County.
A photo accompanying the story featured Fayette nonprofit agency directors, local elected officials and members of the United Way staff with a symbolic check representing more than $322,500 directed to Fayette nonprofit agencies and programs serving county citizens.
The meeting took place at Somerville City Hall in Somerville, TN. Gallaway Mayor Dennis Timbes, LaGrange Mayor Bill Cowan, Oakland Mayor Chris Goodman, County Mayor Rhea Taylor and Somerville Mayor Bob Turner were present for the event. The mayors received a symbolic check from Faye Carter, United Way Senior Vice President of Fundraising, which represented the amount invested in agencies and programs helping Fayette County citizens.
