United Way of the Mid-South’s Annual Meeting and Campaign Celebration luncheon is tomorrow – Thursday, March 1 at The Peabody in Memphis. United Way staff have been preparing for the event and roughly 750+ preregistered guests from organizations across the Mid-South.
Dave Skorupa, United Way’s Vice President of Communications, said “the meeting highlights accomplishments from local organizations during the most recent fundraising effort and will feature presenters from the United Way board, partner agencies, and local media.”
Speakers Jennifer Biggs from The Commercial Appeal, Rodney Dunigan from WPTY ABC 24, and Adam Hammond from WREG News Channel 3 will work with the meeting’s Master of Ceremonies, Ron Childers from WMC TV 5.
The event will also share details of how supporting United Way helps our nonprofit network’s efforts to ensure more local children are ready to enter Kindergarten, prepared to succeed.
United Way will unveil the total of our most recent fundraising campaign at the event (the Board of Directors set a $25 million goal last year).
The organization will also announce new leaders serving on the United Way Board of Directors, and salute volunteers who are rolling off the Board as their terms end.
