The Commercial Appeal’s MMB raises awareness & donations

Middle Management Board (MMB), comprised of leaders within the city’s largest newspaper, helped the C.A. and Memphis Publishing Company raise over $32,000 for United Way this year. The C.A. used tailgate parties, cookouts and games, and sports-related gift baskets for football and basketball fans.

Jason Terrell, Marketing Creative Manager for The Commercial Appeal, spoke to United Way staff and Loaned Executives last month and shared some of the creative ideas the MMB used to inspire giving. MMB reported a 30% increase in giving this year, due to a rise in one-time gifts, increased payroll donations and new givers. Terrell and his team also used unique posters to spread awareness of the fundraising drive.
