Teens in the Youth United Way Bountiful Baskets initiative assemble and distribute food baskets to pre-selected local families for Thanksgiving

UPDATED INFORMATION: Teens in our Youth United Way leadership program assembled twenty Thanksgiving baskets last Saturday, and will deliver the food tomorrow to pre-selected families in need.

The teens’ Bountiful Baskets initiative collected over 800 non-perishable items for food baskets. Tomorrow, the baskets will be given to already-selected families to help prepare Thanksgiving dinner. Each family will also receive a gift certificate to purchase a turkey or ham to complete the dinner.

“Our students understand giving back to the community is a year-round activity, and during the holidays, helping out makes a big difference for people in need,” said Clint Anderson, Director of Youth United Way.

The holiday baskets will be delivered Tuesday, November 23, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Knowledge Quest Inc., 1027 Arnold Place in Memphis, TN.
