Right Now: United Way Campaign Cabinet meets to discuss results, ongoing strategy

Volunteers from across the Mid-South who are serving as members of United Way’s Campaign Cabinet are meeting this morning to discuss the results of early organization fundraising drives and to share strategies for the next season of campaign efforts.

The volunteers are led by United Way General Campaign Chairman John Crowe, Chairman & CEO for Buckeye Technologies, Inc.

Crowe has recruited an excellent team of local volunteers to steer fundraising efforts in business sectors across our region. United Way staff and Loaned Executives are working with the volunteers to determine the challenges and opportunities for this year’s campaign.

The area’s United Way fundraising drive formally begins Friday, September 16 with our Day of Caring event, but some businesses hold their campaigns earlier as “pacesetter” organizations.

Information from today’s meeting helps United Way plan fundraising drives for the next several months. We thank all the local volunteer leaders who serve on our United Way Campaign Cabinet.
