Last week’s luncheon celebrated Mid-South generosity in a big way. In just one shortened holiday week, over $1.36 million was pledged to United Way.

Last week’s United Way campaign update meeting was joyous and sad at the same time.

It was joyous as General Campaign Chairman Charlie Maxwell (Raymond James) shared that during a shortened holiday week, the Mid-South nonetheless pledged over $1.36 million to support United Way’s work for stronger education, financial stability and health.

It was sad in that it was the last meeting for many of the Loaned Executives and Sponsored Representatives Рkey volunteers who have worked alongside staff since summer.

To celebrate the accomplishments of the Loaned Executives and Sponsored Representatives, last week’s special meeting at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Midtown Memphis featured a very entertaining video produced by volunteer Mario Lindsey, showcasing the team as “superheroes for the Mid-South.”

Representatives from FedEx and Memphis City Government were also on hand to share strong results from employee donations at their organizations.
