Fayette County citizens celebrated the launch of the STUFF THE BUS campaign last weekend in grand style, bringing school supplies to help people in need.
Many Mid-South public school students living at or below poverty level often lack the supplies they need to go back to school prepared for success. United Way of the Mid-South has teamed with co-sponsors Kellogg’s, SOS Partners in Education and Walmart to invite Fayette County and the entire Mid-South to donate needed supplies for the STUFF THE BUS school supply drive during July and August.
The bus is located at Walmart Super Center, 105 Chickasaw Ridge Drive in Oakland, TN and is open for donations from August 1 thru 4, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
The STUFF THE BUS drive is exactly what its name implies – we want to fill a parked school bus with school supplies to help children enter the new academic year with everything they need to succeed. You can find a list of items students need in the Walmart store and online at http://www.fcsk12.net
If you would like to volunteer or donate, please contact Karen Todd (Kroger Company) at 901.853.5311 ext. 249.
