Yesterday the first annual Memphis Grizzlies Dribble Parade bounced through downtown Memphis to promote youth physical fitness. An army of youth and teens in the Youth United Way Leadership Program and other groups united for an afternoon of activity and fun by dribbling basketballs through downtown. The route ended at FedExForum before yesterday’s Grizzlies game against the New Orleans Hornets.
The teens were joined by City of Memphis Mayor AC Wharton and local news media. Photos provided by Youth United Way Director Clint Anderson show the teens in action (and Mayor Wharton doing push-up exercises) to promote physical activity during “NBA Fit Week.”
Our thanks to the Memphis Grizzlies and the City of Memphis for partnering with us to promote youth physical fitness across the Mid-South area.
