Photo Gallery: United Way Annual Meeting and Campaign Celebration

Yesterday’s United Way Annual Meeting and Campaign Celebration was a great success as General Campaign Chairman John Crowe (Buckeye Technologies, Inc.) announced an amazing 25,834,821 fundraising total for our community at the luncheon at The Peabody.

Guest presenters Rodney Dunigan (WPTY ABC 24), Adam Hammond (WREG News Channel 3) and Jennifer Biggs (The Commercial Appeal) helped our Master of Ceremonies, Ron Childers (WMC TV 5) recognize organizations and volunteers across the Mid-South for their generous support of the United Way network of care.

The meeting also recognized the significant accomplishments of outgoing Chairman of the Board of Directors, Bill Logue (FedEx) and welcomed our new Chairman, Martha Perine-Beard (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Memphis branch).

One of the highlights of the meeting was a presentation by Rev. Marilynn Robinson (St. Francis Healthcare) showcasing some of the important work United Way and our agency partners are performing to help more children reach Kindergarten prepared to succeed. Representatives from Porter-Leath testified to the dramatic success that can be achieved in children’s lives thanks in large part to gifts to the United Way network.

We will have more stories and photos from the luncheon in the days to come. This morning we’re happy to share this small photo gallery (photos by Paul Smothers). Please click on any of the photos below to see the image in a larger format as part of a slideshow presentation.

Update: Rodney Dunigan (WPTY ABC 24) posted a quick photo using his Twitter account here yesterday.
