The Commercial Appeal has a story about the massive volunteer and nonprofit effort called Project Homeless Connect that took place at the Mid-South Fairgrounds yesterday. An army of purple-shirted volunteers was provided through United Way’s Day of Caring activity. Volunteers came from several organizations including FedEx, International Paper, the Internal Revenue Service and AutoZone.
