National EITC day: Regions volunteers help people prepare and file taxes during VITA Special Volunteer Week

Regions employees Terri Webber (left) and Tina Holloway spent time helping people prepare and file taxes at the Department of Human Services this week.

Two Regions employees came to the support of the Earned Income Tax Credit Alliance (EITCA) and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) earlier this week.

Terri Webber and Tina Holloway assisted during VITA’s “Special Volunteer Week” by helping people file their taxes for free at the VITA site located at the Department of Human Services at 3230 Jackson. This is just one of many locations throughout Memphis and the Mid-South region that is offering free tax filing. Walk-ins are welcome.

With more people receiving their W-2 forms from employers at the end of the month, United Way’s Earned Income Tax Credit Alliance EITCA and VITA volunteers are helping qualifying families prepare and file their taxes, while ensuring they use the Earned Income Tax Credit. Additional sites will be open by February 3rd, and the sites will remain open through April 17.
