From the Archive: Memphis memories of a $100,000 endowment to United Way in today’s edition of The Commercial Appeal

A $100,000 endowment to United Way that was given twenty-five years ago is mentioned in today’s “Memphis Memories” feature in The Commercial Appeal. The regular feature recaps local news stories from the past.

The endowment was created from proceeds of the sale of the Happy Acres center in 1981. You can read the entire story online at The Commercial Appeal’s website, here.
