United Way of the Mid-South will announce the conclusion of its campaign year Thursday, Feb. 24 at The Peabody in Memphis, where the campaign total raised for the community will be unveiled. This year’s campaign goal of $25 million was set by United Way’s Board of Directors last fall.  The annual meeting will begin at 11:15 A.M. and lunch will be served at the Peabody Hotel.

John Crowe, 2011-12 Regional Campaign Chairman for United Way of the Mid-South, will reveal the final total during the luncheon program. He will also pay tribute to this past year’s chairman Shannon Brown from FedEx who led the region-wide effort to raise support for United Way in 2010-11.

Speakers at the luncheon will also share stories of how United Way support improves the lives of people across the Mid-South community, and details about United Way’s effort to redesign its work and processes as part of its strategic planning initiative.

The luncheon will salute local organizations and leaders whose efforts impact lives and make our community a better place to live and work. The annual meeting will host roughly 850 people from businesses, nonprofits and other organizations throughout the Mid-South who have generously donated to the campaign. United Way will also be announcing new members to serve on its Board of Directors.
