Numbers That Matter: Local 2-1-1 answered over 45,500 calls connecting people with needs to services that help (July, 2010 thru June, 2011)

Our local 2-1-1 information and referral organization (a partnership between United Way of the Mid-South and the Memphis Public Library system) released the totals of calls received between July, 2010 and June, 2011 earlier today.

The results show that over 45,500 people called the 2-1-1 line for help with nonprofit information and referral during that time period. Calls to 2-1-1 are answered by trained operators who can cut through the red tape and connect people with resources that make a difference – quickly.

The attached chart shows both the calls to the 2-1-1 center (in red) and calls to the library’s LINC network for general reference questions. The chart comes courtesy of Ron Reid at 2-1-1/LINC.
