From the Archive: Lauderdale Chamber hosts “Pull Together for United Way” fire truck pulling contest on Saturday, Nov. 10th

Is your team ready to pull this truck? Grab 11 of your closest friends and co-workers to help raise funds and awareness for United Way’s work in Lauderdale County!

The Lauderdale Chamber / Economic Community Development is teaming with the Ripley Fire Department and United Way of the Mid-South for a first annual “Pull Together for United Way” event on Saturday, November 10th at the south side of Court Square in downtown Ripley, TN.

Lauderdale businesses are encouraged to gather friends and co-workers and join the fun of pulling a fire truck as a team. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and all proceeds benefit United Way’s work in Lauderdale County. Awards for fastest time, most spirited / best dressed team and audience choice will be presented.

According to a message sent from the Lauderdale Chamber / Economic Community Development, “we (Lauderdale County) have benefited from United Way in the past. We have received grants for our Youth Leadership program.  Without their help we would not have been able to accept 34 youth in our program this year.  Please help us and show support for this event!”

Teams for the fire truck pull will require twelve people. For more information or to register a team, contact the Ripley Fire Department at 731.635.2284 or the Lauderdale Chamber / Economic Community Development at 731.635.9541
