Kindergarten readiness is the focus of new “Kindergarten PASS” messages and materials

Memphis City Schools is engaging in a new kindergarten readiness campaign designed to help children be more prepared for entering education at the kindergarten level.

Kindergarten PASS campaign

The new "Kindergarten PASS" message campaign from Memphis City Schools helps parents and caregivers of young children prepare the youngsters for kindergarten education.

Parents and caregivers can help their children be more prepared for kindergarten education with a new readiness checklist and calendar of activities from Memphis City Schools (see the downloads at the end of this article).

The new “Kindergarten PASS” (Prepare in Advance for School Success) messages help children ages 3-4 and their parents/caregivers focus on physical fitness, academic skills, social skills and self-help skills.

Future messages will target children ages 0-2 and their parents/caregivers using “Smart from the Start” materials from the State of Tennessee.

United Way of the Mid-South is part of the preK-3 Community Advisory Team and is also involved in early learning promotion through our national “born learning” messages on radio and television through cooperation with the Ad Council.
