INVESTING IN THE FUTURE: The Commercial Appeal provides additional support for children’s charities

As we reported last month, our friends at The Commercial Appeal are generously contributing additional support for some United Way agencies helping children and youth succeed in our Mid-South area.

Yesterday, George Cogswell (President and Publisher at The Commercial Appeal) and Paul Jewell (Marketing Director) presented checks to our friends at Knowledge Quest, Inc., Girls, Inc., The Memphis Child Advocacy Center, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis in a ceremony at the paper at 495 Union Avenue in Memphis.

Cogswell and Jewell spoke about The Commercial Appeal’s commitment to children’s charities and the paper’s philosophy of supporting nonprofits through financial gifts and volunteerism, which is mirrored in the culture at the E.W. Scripps Company.
