GlaxoSmithKline knows how to focus on a job. The science-led global healthcare company recently shut down its normal operations for an entire work day so employees could visit United Way network agencies and other local nonprofit partners to serve as volunteers.

This was its first “GSK Day,” and volunteers made a difference at 11 Mid-South nonprofit sites including MIFA’s  Meals on Wheels program, Mid-South Food Bank, Transformation Autism, Youth Villages, Impact Missions, Knowledge Quest, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, SRVS and Habitat for Humanity.

Below are photos taken from GSK Day helping improve the living conditions for 8 young girls in Hernando, Mississippi.
