“Walk United” posters help promote the June 20 activity

Did you know you can help improve education, financial stability and health across the Mid-South just by walking? That’s right – on Saturday, June 20th you can join MLGW and United Way in “Walk United,” a beautiful morning stroll through Tom Lee Park and the Mississippi Riverwalk that raises resources for this year’s United Way drive. (Register here.)

Active living is a Mid-South priorityBetter health and active living are Mid-South priority issues. Our rates of obesity, heart disease, stroke, poor eating habits, and diabetes are higher than national averages. Activities like “Walk United” help remind us to be more active and encourage good health habits. We thank our friends at MLGW for this great way to raise resources for our United Way while simultaneously working on our area’s top challenges. This is the fifth year MLGW has led the “Walk United” activity for our community.
