For over 25 years, United Way of the Mid-South’s Day of Caring event has mobilized thousands of volunteers to participate in a day of service, creating impacts for nonprofits and the people they assist in communities across our region.

In 2017, United Way of the Mid-South was excited to present Days of Caring in September – over TWO weeks of volunteer activities to help people across the region. Over 1600 volunteers were connected to nonprofit programs, agencies, and community groups where they tackled meaningful volunteer projects. Early estimates suggest the value of volunteerism hours exceeded $121,300.00!

Volunteers participated in kickoff rallies and service projects in several counties, making it one of our largest and most widespread volunteer projects ever. We’re still collecting data and photos from across the area, and we’ll share information about the total impact of Days of Caring soon.
