Gen Now LogoUnited Way Emerging Leaders Society is partnering with Gen Now, a new professionals group at First Tennessee Bank to support two United Way partner agencies in a children’s book drive throughout the month of March.

The drive is collecting children’s books, for all children ages. Both old and new  books will be accepted. United Way partner agencies Literacy of the Mid-South and The Exchange Club Family Center will receive the donations.United Way Emerging Leaders Society

Literacy Mid-South improves the quality of life in our community through education by providing literacy programs for adults and children as well as a network of collaborative projects with some of the Mid-South’s finest educational organizations.

The Exchange Club Family Center works to break the cycle of family violence and child abuse so that children do not grow up to become child abusers.  Children can find a safe haven to be nurtured, and parents can strengthen and learn new behaviors that enable them to take better care of their children.

Gen Now at First Tennessee fosters professional development and engagement among First Tennessee employees to become future leaders and encourages innovation and inclusion in a multigenerational workforce. Employees gain a better understanding of how to work with each other and “bridge the gap” of misunderstandings and misconceptions that different groups may have of one another. This gives employees a better understanding of who works for them, who they work for, and who works with them, creating a more inclusive and innovative environment which produces positive effects on productivity and performance.

The book drive begins March 1 and ends March 31, 2016.
