The unique relationship between the United Way network and the National Football League goes back several decades. During broadcasts of NFL games, public service announcements for United Way, Live United and activities such as the “Play 60” youth fitness initiative are given air time without cost – a messaging gift that is worth multiplied millions of dollars throughout the NFL season.
To celebrate the NFL and its partnership with United Way, for the past several years United Way of the Mid-South staff have participated in an in-office “Football Friday” on the Friday before the Super Bowl. Staff wear NFL merchandise or college football merchandise featuring their favorite teams in exchange for a small donation to our employee committee fund.
