Please let your representatives in the House and Senate know that you support protecting charitable giving

Brian Gallagher, President and CEO of United Way Worldwide, spoke to the United States Senate Committee on Finance yesterday about the need for Congress to avoid changes to tax laws that may result in reduced giving to charities.

The proposals under consideration would result in increased taxes on income that is donated to charities.

Gallagher’s comments are available as an Adobe Acrobat PDF document here.

United Way Worldwide is hosting video of Gallagher’s testimony here. You can learn more about possible changes by visiting this page on the United Way Worldwide website, and also send a customized message to the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives.
