First Tennessee Bank’s First Ops employees showed great creativity in the ways they increased awareness of the critical needs United Way addresses in our community.
Fundraising kickoff events at First Ops are accompanied by a theme, costumes, decorations and music – the team really pulls out all the stops to make the campaign a fun and exciting time for employees.
The First Ops division’s work centers around deposit operations functions, providing assistance to financial centers when internal issues arise. With over 250 employees, First Ops workers serves as a processing and support center.
“Our employees are very generous people,” says Jackie Mays, Quality Analyst for Bank Operations and the United Way campaign chair for the division.
“When First Ops supports United Way each year, our committee goes all-out to create a fun atmosphere and enthusiasm for a rewarding experience,” Mays said.
The division’s enthusiasm mirrors that of our General Campaign Chairman who raises support for the drive across the entire Mid-South, Bruce Hopkins, President, West Tennessee Region for First Tennessee Bank.
This was Mays’ first year to lead the First Ops division drive but she wasn’t surprised at the willingness of First Tennessee employees to respond to the call for support of United Way.
“The campaign is always rewarding,” she noted. “We were able to raise over $12,500 in addition to what our team gives through regular payroll contributions.”
United Way also extends a big “thank you” to First Tennessee employees Bruce Livesay and Jim Blasingame for their leadership and support of United Way.
