Final Day for Tax Filing! Also: United Way celebrates 10 years of EITCA / VITA community partnership this month, Councilman Lowery is guest speaker

Today is the final day for filing your 2011 tax returns. Earned Income Tax Credit Alliance (EITCA) and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) locations are open to assist you. To find the location nearest you, visit this post or simply call our 2-1-1 help and information line to speak with an operator.
(Note: some locations will be open additional days past today’s deadline.)

United Way will celebrate 10 years of community partnerships with EITCA and VITA later this month by saluting local volunteers who have served as key workers in this important effort. The celebration will be held at the Hickory Ridge Mall Banquet Room at 6075 Winchester Road (southwest entrance).

Councilman Myron Lowery

Special guest Councilman Myron Lowery (Super District 8) will congratulate the volunteers on a job well done. “Councilman Lowery is a true advocate for VITA and was one of our ‘founding partner volunteers’ of the EITCA 10 years ago,” said Yvonne Howard, United Way Senior Specialist and EITCA coordinator.
