The Youth United Way Recognition Banquet (see previous story) brings local teens and their families together to hear from powerful speakers and that tradition continues this year, with the announcement that the keynote speaker for the banquet on May 13th is Mr. Andre’ K. Fowlkes.
Fowlkes is the owner of Innpowerment, a business focused on empowering people to use innovation and take advantage of the resources and opportunities available to them. Fowlkes has a Business Degree from Iona College’s Hagan School of Business and spent 11 years in the investment counseling field with Fisher Investments.
Currently, Fowlkes is a business columnist for The Commercial Appeal. He serves on the advisory board for Memphis Teacher’s Credit Union, he is Vice Chairman of the Memphis & Shelby County Charter Commission, and he is the Executive Director & Chairman of the Small Business Chamber of Commerce.
Fowlkes volunteers his time and resources with MPACT Memphis, the National Bipolar Foundation, and LaunchMemphis. Fowlkes is the son of Michelle and Judge John T. Fowlkes.
