United Way’s mission is “improving the lives of Mid-Southerners by mobilizing and aligning community resources to address priority issues.”

United Way is dedicated to making improvements in the areas of education, financial stability and health for the good of our Mid-South community.

We have a special focus on:

Education: Helping more children enter Kindergarten ready to learn and improving third-grade reading scores
Financial Stability: Helping more people obtain family sustaining employment
Health & Safety: Helping more citizens have healthy eating and active living options, and helping more people reduce/avoid domestic violence incidents

To bring about these critical improvements we work with numerous sectors across our community including volunteers, nonprofits, collaborations, business, organized labor, academia, faith-based organizations, and other groups trying to improve the Mid-South.
