Each year, funds raised during the campaign which are not donor-designated are used to impact our community through an allocations process led by specially trained volunteers throughout the Mid-South.
These volunteers spend thousands of hours examining the needs of our community, reading funding requests, visiting agencies, reviewing programs, examining agency finances and interviewing their volunteers and staff, all to ensure that United Way remains the best way to help the most people.
These volunteers determine which programs and services most effectively and efficiently address the health and human service needs of their communities. Simply put, these volunteers are responsible for deciding the best use of funds raised during the United Way campaign.
