When we LIVE UNITED and support United Way we create results in education, finances and health that make a difference in the lives of adults with disabilities and seniors.
Often viewed as our most vulnerable populations, United Way programs and initiatives create positive changes in the lives of area seniors and people with disabilities.
Independence at home
United Way is helping more people with disabilities and seniors live as independently as possible. By assisting with In-home medical care and household chores, more people with disabilities and seniors can live in their own home rather than moving to a full-care nursing facility.
Quality of life
United Way is helping more people with disabilities and seniors with their physical and mental well-being. Programs and initiatives focused on memory skills, social development and appropriate exercise create happier, less isolated lifestyles.
Increasing self-sufficiency
United Way is helping create access to opportunities regardless of disability, language, vision, hearing impairments or other needs. The ability to contribute to one’s own needs improves one’s satisfaction with life.
